On Saturday, December 7, 2024, members of the Giles County Community Remembrance Project traveled to Huntsville, Alabama to witness the dedication of a historical marker remembering the 1890 lynching of Mr. Robert Mosley.
The Madison County Community Remembrance Project celebrated five years of work leading to this, their first historical marker recognizing victims of lynching in Madison County. The group has been working with the Equal Justice Initiative to organize soil collection ceremonies and other community events, raising awareness about the impact of racial terror lynchings in Madison County and nationwide.
We look forward to upcoming meetings with the Madison County CRP group, providing us opportunities to learn from their experience and successes.
